Reading the dashboard
Four short answers at opening time: who owes the shop, which invoices are largest, where the work sits, and who is booked next.

Dashboard is four cards in two rows: customer aging and largest unpaid invoices across the top, workflow status and upcoming appointments underneath. Each card is a short table with its column headings, a link in its header to the list behind its figures, and the link to the full screen at its foot. Where a figure here is also on Reports, the two are the same number: In work and Ready are the Cars in shop and Ready tiles, and both Total due rows are the Open AR tile. The money cards show at most five rows before sending you to the report that owns the full list.
All four reads stay inside the current shop. Demo and test rows are excluded from every row, count and amount a live shop sees; the test playground explicitly includes its own stamped test rows. Appointment windows are cut on the shop's timezone, not the server's or the device's, so Today still means the shop's business day when somebody opens it while travelling.
What is owed
- Customer aging
- Customers with open balances, largest first, with invoice count, how many days past its due date their most overdue invoice is (Overdue) and its aging bucket. The Total due row is the exact amount owed across the shop and how many accounts owe it. Show more appears only when accounts remain beyond the first five.
- Largest unpaid invoices
- Individual invoices ordered by what is still due, each with the order and the first service on that invoice, the invoice number, the customer and vehicle frozen on the invoice, and that invoice's Total, Paid and Due. An order billed in stages has one row per unpaid invoice, so its row can show less than the order's grand total. The Total due row says how many invoices remain open and their exact combined balance. On a phone, Total and Paid fold under the order.
What is moving
Workflow status uses the board's own open-work filter and its own lane folding, so its counts are not a second opinion. Like the board, it leaves out the cold estimates filed under Follow-ups. The stages run Estimates, Approved, In Progress, Quality Check, Complete and Invoiced — the board's own lane names. Each row gives the orders in that lane, their order totals and the jobs pending customer authorization, and the All open work row adds them up. The board keeps a paid car in its Invoiced lane for the shop's paid window, so the Invoiced row and the All open work row say +N paid under their count when there are any: the list those rows open holds those paid cars too, and the count and the list then agree. Choosing a lane opens the board narrowed to that lane for this visit only; it does not rewrite your saved board view. View list and the All open work row open the board's list of every open order.
Workflow status does not link to the Work in Progress report. That report totals approved work not yet invoiced on any order still carrying some, however old, so its total is a different number from Open value and was never meant to match it.
The four figures that used to sit in the board's header are read at the top of Workflow status. They count the whole shop, not whatever filter the board happens to have on.
- In work
- Cars being worked on: every open repair order in Approved, In Progress or Quality Check. Complete cars are counted under Complete instead, so In work plus Complete is every car in the building. It is the same number as the Cars in shop tile on Reports, and the board's own summary line counts it the same way.
- Complete
- Cars in the Complete lane, finished and waiting to be collected. Reports calls the same figure Complete.
- Open value
- The order totals of every open repair order on the card, the same figure as the All open work row, before any payment or milestone invoice is taken off. What is still owed on invoices is the Total due on the two money cards. Paid and closed cars are never in it.
- Efficiency today
- Billed hours over clocked job time for the shop's today, the same figure the board shows. It reads No data yet until today has both closed job punches and billed hours.
Upcoming appointments offers Today, Tomorrow, This week and Next week. This week means today through the end of the shop's Sunday-anchored week; next week is the complete week after that. The time column prints the hour where each hour's first appointment starts, the week tabs name each day they cross, the current-time line appears only in a window that includes today, and each appointment opens its move screen.
